Frequently Asked Questions
Comprehensive FAQ
CFAC Support Desk
For Individual Students
•What are the allowed mediums and styles for each stream?
We encourage absolute creative freedom. For Visual Arts, participants can use watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, color pencils, charcoal, or mixed media (Digital Art is not permitted). For Dance, we welcome all Classical, Western, and Regional Folk styles. For Vocal Music, Hindustani, Carnatic, Western, and Regional music genres are fully accepted.
•Is there a specific theme for the Olympiad?
Yes! For Visual Arts, the theme is "Colour Your Imagination". For Dance, it is "Rhythms of Freedom". For Vocal Music, the theme is "Melodies of the Soul". We intentionally chose open-ended themes to avoid restricting young minds. We want participants to explore their boundless creativity and let their raw imagination flow freely.
•Can I participate in multiple streams (e.g., Visual Arts and Dance)?
Yes, absolutely! Multi-talented students can participate in more than one stream. However, you will need to enroll and submit separate entries for each stream category you wish to compete in.
•How do I submit my Dance or Vocal Music entry?
Unlike Visual Arts where you upload a photograph of your painting, for the Performing Arts (Dance and Music), you are required to record your performance LIVE directly within the secure My CFAC App using our built-in video assessment tool.
•What is the exact age limit for participation?
The CFAC National Arts Olympiad is structured into 5 specific age groups, welcoming students from 4 to 18 years old. Please refer to the 'Age Categories' section on this page to find your exact group.
•What happens if I face technical issues uploading my entry?
The My CFAC App is designed to handle high-resolution image uploads and live video recordings seamlessly. However, if you face network issues, our dedicated IT support helpline is available during working hours to assist you.
For Schools & Academies
•Can our school host multiple streams for our students?
Yes! During your Institutional Registration, you can choose to host the Visual Arts Olympiad, the Dance Olympiad, the Vocal Music Olympiad, or all three simultaneously on your campus.
•How does the school collect and pay the student fees?
Once your school is registered, your Institutional Dashboard handles all accounting automatically. You can collect fees from your students locally, and then process a single, bulk payment to CFAC securely via the portal.
•Who provides the invigilation during the physical Olympiad?
The associated school is responsible for providing the venue, basic drawing sheets (for visual arts), appropriate spaces for performing arts, and fair on-ground invigilation. Additionally, an official CFAC Olympiad Coordinator will virtually monitor the proceedings on the date of the event to ensure strict adherence to all examination guidelines.
•Do we need to courier physical items for Dance and Music?
No. While physical artworks for the Visual Arts Olympiad must be couriered to our registered office, all Dance and Music submissions are recorded and submitted entirely digitally through our live portal assessment system, requiring zero logistical effort from the school.
•Will the participating schools receive any recognition?
Absolutely. Every participating school will be proudly showcased across our official website and social media handles. The Principal or School In-charge will receive an official Token of Honour for joining this national initiative. Furthermore, the school demonstrating the highest student participation will be exclusively awarded the prestigious "Centre of Creative Excellence" trophy.
•Is there a minimum student requirement to register as an associated school?
There is no strict minimum limit to associate your school. Whether you have a small group of 10 passionate artists or a massive cohort of 500+, we welcome your institution to provide this national platform to your students.
